August 17, 10th Sunday after Pentecost -- 9:00 Service. First Reading: Jeremiah 23:23-29; Psalm 82, Second Reading: Hebrews 11:29--12:2, Gospel: Luke 12:49-56
Dear Servants,
"Family Division, Around Jesus?" is the sermon title for this coming Sunday. The sermon is based on Luke 12:49-56.
Emphasis points:
1. It is sad but true that many families are divided over Jesus Christ.
2. Our first and primary allegiance must be to Jesus Christ. The First Commandment and its meaning.
3. When a family member does not believe we must seek to build a bridge of trust and understanding to that person.
4. Continue to pray for that person but realize that God may use someone other than a family member to reach them.
In Bible class we look at chapters 30 & 31 in our Parables class based on Matthew 21 :28-32, and Luke 14:25-33.
We complete our Parables class on August 31st.
May the Lord fill your heart with hope!,
Ron
